Camp Hazen YMCA

Pollinator Garden

This grant will fund the creation of a pollinator garden at Camp Hazen, creating a safe habitat for the insects, birds, and other animals influencing the cross fertilization and growth of plants. The project will connect Camp Hazen to a “pollinator pathway” by planting a pesticide-free garden of native plants that will provide nutrition and habitat for pollinators, who are declining due to climate change and urbanization. The goal is for the garden to serve both as a necessary habitat for pollinators and as an educational tool for the 8,500 people served yearly by the Camp. Grant amount $1,500
