Join us at the Rockfall Foundation deKoven House for a tea blending workshop with Kristy, owner of Bittersweet Farm.
- Learn about herbs and how to grow them.
- Discover the medicinal values of different herbs.
- Learn what herbs to combine for anxiety, sleep, headache, etc.
- Mix a small tea sample to bring home.
Bittersweet Farm is a small herb-growing and tea-making operation located in Higganum, CT. Kristy Benson-Amarante is a self-taught herbalist and farmer who has been making over 60 kinds of teas for many years. Bittersweet Farm hosts the Higganum Farmers Market, teaches classes all over the state and enjoys helping people find the perfect blend of tea for either medicinal purposes or for sheer beverage enjoyment.
This workshop collaborates with Healthy PlanEat. A new sustainable food tech startup based in East Lyme, Connecticut, which helps farmers who use sustainable growing practices to sell their food directly to local customers. Founder and CEO Rosemary Ostfeld’s mission is to help increase access to fresh, sustainably grown, local food so people can have a healthy and sustainable diet.
