Greening Children & Youth
Engaging children and young adults in learning about the natural world remains at the heart of Rockfall’s mission. We believe that the most effective way to encourage long-term stewardship of our natural resources is to influence the next generations of stewards.
Rockfall supports and promotes the work of those providing children and young adults with hands-on experiences that will often translate into life-long appreciation and care for our natural world.
- Rockfall grant recipients work with children and schools and fund internships for students at local universities and colleges.
- Each year, the foundation sponsors family hikes at local parks and conservation areas.
- Virginia R. Rollefson Environmental Leadership Scholarship recognizes outstanding contributions by a high school student residing in the Lower Connecticut River Valley who is presently involved with a significant environmental program or project in the areas of natural resource preservation, conservation, restoration or development.
