Environmental Awards and Youth Leadership Scholarship
Annual Environmental Awards. Each year the foundation honors individuals and groups to highlight their contributions to the region. The Distinguished Service Award is given for outstanding life-long accomplishments in the area of natural resource preservation, conservation or development. Certificates of Appreciation are awarded to recognize significant environmental programs and projects.
This year, the Rockfall Foundation is pleased to recognize the following individuals and organizations at our Annual Meeting and Grants and Environmental Awards Celebration on November 3, 2016:

Virginia R. Rollefson Environmental Leadership Scholarship recognizes outstanding contributions by a high school student residing in the Lower Connecticut River Valley who is presently involved with a significant environmental program or project in the areas of natural resource preservation, conservation, restoration or development. The scholarship is named in honor of Rockfall former Executive Director, Virginia R. “Ginny” Rollefson, who retired in 2010 after 24 years of service to the foundation. The award honors her long service to the Foundation, her enthusiasm, and her belief that we all benefit when young people are actively engaged in making their communities a better place to live. One $1,000 scholarship is awarded each year. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2017, download the application.
