The Rockfall Foundation The Rockfall Foundation

About The Foundation

The Rockfall Foundation, named for the rock falls at the present Wadsworth Falls State Park, was founded in 1935 by Colonel Clarence S. Wadsworth in order "to establish, maintain and care for parks and forests or wild land for the use and enjoyment of the public, with such limitations as the Corporation may impose, and to carry out any other public and charitable purpose...". Originally known as The Rockfall Corporation, the name was changed in 1987 to reflect its dedication to community service as a private, non-profit charitable organization. Continuing his tradition of philanthropic activity in Middlesex County, the Rockfall Foundation holds and manages open-space property, supports environmental projects, awards, grants, and educational programs, preserves and operates the historic deKoven House as a community center.

The Rockfall Foundation seeks to maintain its role as a catalyst working with other organizations to support relevant community services and enlightened means of natural resource conservation, preservation and development which contribute to the improved quality of life for people in Middlesex County.
