The Grants Program

The Rockfall Foundation welcomes grant applications from non-profit organizations, towns, and schools for innovative projects that align with its priorities and demonstrate the ability to serve as models for others. The Foundation's matching grants typically range from $500 to $2,500.

History

The Rockfall Foundation established a grants program in 1971 and added grants for schools in 1997 to provide financial support to environmental education activities, planning projects, and internships with demonstrable impacts in Middlesex County. Each year the Foundation's grants serve as a catalyst for innovative efforts to preserve and enhance the local environment and to increase public knowledge and protection of the region's natural resources.

One special focus of the grants program is projects that engage students in Kindergarten through 12th grade in meaningful environmental educational experiences. It is hoped that such experiences, particularly when integrated with local standards-based curricula, will help today's children become adults who are well versed in natural resource issues.

Another special focus is projects that relate to the theme of the Annual Rockfall Symposium, selected each year to foster and inform discussion of issues impacting the quality of life in Middlesex County.

Individuals, corporations, and community groups interested in offering financial support for this grants program are invited to become Members of The Rockfall Foundation. (Please click here to find out more.)
